EMES 2027 convenes the people doing the conversion for two days in Luleå, Sweden, headquarters of LKAB and home of the HYBRIT fossil-free steel initiative: the epicentre of Europe’s decarbonized mining sector. Speakers are operators, utilities, underwriters, and auditors presenting field data including what failed. Sessions cover mixed-fleet dual-fuel logistics, brownouts on rural 20kV feeds, and the bankability of alternative OEM supply chains.
Every session is anchored to a deadline that has already arrived. The EU Battery Passport became mandatory in February 2027. CRMA Strategic Project permitting is moving. NIS2 obligations are live across industrial grid systems. Post-2030 ETS carbon costs are already entering every electrification business case. This is not a summit about regulations coming. It is a summit for the first year they bite.
